Silver for the tyre pressure control system from Fendt
Fendt already received its first award on the first day of the Agritechnica 2009. The tyre pressure control system from Fendt, which is fully integrated in the vehicle concept, was awarded a silver medal by the DLG. Dr. Heribert Reiter, Managing Director of Fendt Development and Robert Heisler, project manager from the development department accepted the medal at the official awards ceremony.

The tyre pressure control system, which was developed at Fendt, allows pressure to be controlled while driving. This is done via an internal, ring-shaped PTG rotary union, which is designed to last the lifetime of the tractor. Air is supplied via a modified vehicle compressor as well as the vehicle's own valve equipment. The tyre pressure can be increased by one bar in less than seven minutes. Reducing pressure by one bar takes only two minutes. This enables much shorter pressure changing times than retrofit systems, which use the vehicle compressor.

Overall 307 innovations from 118 companies were submitted, most of which were in the category "tractors, mobile agricultural equipment and transport vehicles."
Carl-Albrecht Bartmer, President of the DLG summed it all up: “No other industry is as innovative as the agricultural equipment industry. The medal is a true quality award.” Today agricultural engineering is the high-tech industry and the award-winners can be very proud of their innovations, with which they set important trends in agriculture time and again.
