Machine of the Year 2010 - four awards for Fendt
At the official awards ceremony for the “Machine of the Year 2010” on the evening of the third day of the exhibition, the Fendt team was called to the stage four times. All of the innovations Fendt presented at the Agritechnica this year received one of these prestigious awards given by the German publishers Deutscher Landwirtschaftsverlag: the 800 Vario, 200 Vario and 200 Vario V/F/P ranges as well as the Fendt hybrid combine. Fitting the occasion, the top management of AGCO and Fendt were represented at the ceremony.
Proud winners: the Fendt team with Gary Collar, Senior Vice President, General Manager of AGCO EAME and ANZ (4th from right) and Peter-Josef Paffen, Vice President und Spokesman of the Fendt Management Board (3rd from left).
The “Machine of the Year” has been awarded since 1997 and starting this year, is an internationally based competition. Fendt is the only company that has received four “Machine of the Year” awards in one year. Gary Collar, Senior Vice President, General Manager of AGCO EAME and ANZ, Hans-Bernd Veltmaat, Senior Vice President Production, Peter-Josef Paffen, Vice President and Spokesman of the Fendt Management and Dr. Heribert Reiter, Vice President and Fendt Managing Director Development, proudly accepted the awards.
The new Fendt 800 Vario received the award in the category “High Horsepower Tractors”. The completely new vehicle concept unites the components of the most-sold tractor model in 2008, the 820 Vario, with the power and technology of the award-winning Fendt 900 Vario tractor range. Fendt sets new standards with the x5 comfort cab, completely new electronics and controls, as well as the first AdBlue engine technology on the market that complies with emissions standard Stage 3b/Tier 4 interim.

The “Machine of the Year 2010” in the category “Low Medium Horsepower Tractors” was the new 200 Vario. With this tractor range, Fendt sets completely new highlights for compact standard tractors in the 70 to 110 hp power segment. The 200 Vario unites maximum comfort with driving pleasure and is also the first and only compact tractor with a continuously variable transmission, the Vario transmission, in this power segment.

With the specialty tractor range 200 Vario V/F/P, Fendt opens new opportunities in the area of specialty tractors. The 200 Vario V/F/P is the first specialty tractor with the continuously variable Vario transmission on the market. For this, the high-ranking jury named it the “Machine of the Year 2010” in the category “Compact/Specialty Tractors”.

The Fendt hybrid combine received the award in the category “Combines”. Presented at the Agritechnica 2009 for the first time, the powerful 492 hp Fendt hybrid combine 9460 X, featuring HyPerforma technology, combines a conventional three-drum threshing system with a highly efficient dual rotor system. The Venturi cleaning system ensures an efficient cleaning process that delivers the best results, even at high output. The Fendt hybrid combine is powered by a 7-cylinder engine with SCR technology from AGCO SISU Power.
