Press releases
The current Fendt harvesting product line is the result of many years of intensive development. Increasing market share in the past years shows that Fendt is on the right track with this product line, which comprises combines and balers.
The market share of the all AGCO harvesting products has been climbing continually for years. It currently lies at about 6 percent in Europe and some 50 percent is covered by Fendt harvesting machines. Likewise in Germany, where the AGCO market share is about 10 percent and half of the machines sold are from Fendt. This continual increase clearly shows that with its product strategy AGCO understands the demands of the market and that the investment in harvesting product development, totalling 100 million dollars, has paid off.
Fendt combines – nearly 100 percent market coverage
With the series production start of the hybrid combine in June of this year, Fendt now covers nearly 100 percent of the combine market. The machines, ranging from 180 to 500 hp, are produced worldwide in three factories. Breganze, Italy is the production centre for all walker combines (E, L, C and P series), the hybrid combine 9470 X as well as the cutting tables for Western and Central Europe. The Fendt rotary combine (R-series) is manufactured in Hesston, USA. The third factory is in located in Santa Rosa, Brazil. Small and mid-sized walker combines and the rotary combine are produced there for the South American, Middle East and African markets. The overall AGCO combine production amounts to 6,000 units per year. The AGCO Corporation is therefore one of the world's leading manufacturers in this segment. Fendt covers 100 percent of the market with square balers from Hesston, market coverage lies at about two thirds for round balers from Breganze.
First customer experience with the Fendt hybrid combine
The first fleet of 496 hp Fendt hybrid combines have been in operation since June of this year and will also be seen in operation at the Field Day in Wadenbrunn. The modern high-output 9470 X combine is based on the tried and tested P-series combine. Through its unique twin rotor separation, it delivers high output capacity with gentlest grain and straw handling as well as low fuel consumption. The 9470X is also the first combine on the market in which exhaust after-treatment with the fuel-saving SCR technology has been implemented. It therefore already complies with the exhaust gas regulations for 2012 today. The first customer testimonials confirm the high performance capacity, the excellent quality of harvest results and the low fuel consumption of the Fendt hybrid combine.
Forage harvesting machines
The forage machine manufacturer Fella is a 100 percent subsidiary of Laverda and therefore belongs to 50 percent to the AGCO Corporation. Fendt therefore has access to the complete line of Fella forage harvesting machine and can complete the baler line with first-class products.
